Cataloging in Carbondale

Today was spent in Carbondale, KS – a small town with an amazing little library.  Alice is one of the newest to join NExpress and her library collection was migrated into Koha without call numbers, unique barcodes or accurate shelving locations…so we have gone down a few times to help re-catalog her stuff.  Today there were three NEKLS staffers and catalogers from Atchison, Tonganoxie and Hiawatha libraries.  Having a web-based catalog made the project that much easier, as Diana and I just sat up our laptops at the kiddie table and whipped through the non-fiction, while Rhonda was at a laptop and the other four were at staff or public PCs.  All we had to bring were spare barcodes scanners.  A good day’s work.
(An aside – all of the library Web sites posted here are part of the KLOW project.)
